While the standard Beresford TC-7520 sounds terrific "as is" and will satisfy most people, there is the option to upgrade the sound quality by swapping out the OEM opamps with the National Semiconductor opamps (LM4562NA).

To us, the National Semiconductor opamps provide a warmer sound with more details and a wider soundstage.  There are a considerable number of discussions surrounding this modification on the various audiophile forums such as The Art of Sound so please feel free to check out what others are saying about the sound differences.

Please note that your hi-fi system needs to be sensitive enough to detect minor tweaks to the system in order to justify this modification.  Typically, this requires a modestly priced system.  If you are not sure your system can do this, then we recommend sticking with the standard TC-7520.
